I've got cataracts, not blind but pretty bad. I don't dare drive at night. Just awaiting my turn at the VA Eye Docs' to get them fixed … I sometimes have to use little Binos to read the scroll on the news, sub titles, or Close Captioned. Or even recognize who is who and who is doing what, etc., on the TV. And a just got hearing aids from the VA. They help. But it's a hassle sometimes to just watch TV. I may be a good example of deaf, dumb & blind, |

For someone who's nearly blind, he can sure paint small scifi army men (I mean 6mm, are you kidding me?). |

"Legally blind" doesn't necessarily mean crappy up-close vision. In fact, someone with severe nearsightedness can thoroughly enjoy the painting aspect of the hobby, while being challenged enough beyond the end of their nose such that they can't see any details "out there". Other kinds of "legal blindness" are too numerous to list. The real tragedy is when you can literally not see a damned thing, like my neighbor across the street: for most of his life, he's been losing the sight of his one functioning eye. Now, for over a year and a half, he's lost even what little ability he had left to read on the computer. Basically he's down to being able to sense light sources only. This is very depressing to write about. |

You mean me ?!? Again thanks for the positive comment if so. But yes, I'm good at seeing things very close up without my glasses ! But beyond that … Another reason I use banners and flags … I have to see who the Hell is in charge !
Or who they are and what they can do !
