Philotep, Amazing paint job! How do you keep paints from cracking on soft plastic figures? Thanks. Dan PS. I guess I hadn't looked at 1/72 in ages. I didn't know about Caesar figures at all until now. link |

Thank you Cacique ! I mainly use GW colors because their are designed for games minis, and rather strong. I first wash the minis with soap and water. When they have dried, I prime them with GW white primer. When the painting is finished, it's best to add some varnish, satin then mat… but I must admit I never varnish my minis ! And the paint cracks only when the cat try to catch the minis (which occurs from times to times). |

Wash and clean with soap and water. Dry. Then paint with weakish solution of PVA glue so the paint will adhere. Paint with acrylics or whatever. Spray gloss varnish and put on any decals. Spray matt varnish And Bob's your uncle. |

@Philotep, you make it sound so easy. I'm tempted to try it sometime. Fantastic results too! By the way, these were my first also, but in 1976: link @1ngram: "And Bob's your uncle" Wasn't "uncle Bob" the nickname little John Connor gave the T-100 unit in T2? :) Dan

Thank you all for your comments. In case you are interested, the wizard is a simple conversion: body of a Caesar undead wizard + head from a Zvezda Peasant. A small picture to explain:
The idea comes from Cheap Fantasy Minis, as explained here. |
