Some years ago, a gentleman from Oxfordshire posted about using pumpkin stems as tree stumps. I recently found a pumpkin stem with lots of character and thought I'd turn it into the stump of an old growth tree. He didn't mention sealing it. I'm in semi-arid Colorado, where things dry out really fast (nice when I spill water!). Does anybody have experience with organics and know if I need to spray the thing with acrylic sealer of some sort? Grelber |

I've got one that is not as tall, and has a lot more "root". Don't seem to have a picture. Mine is a natural light brown. andy |

I made a bunch. I work at a grocery store and they have several big boxes full of pumpkins every fall. I usually scavenge through them to find stems that have broken off. When I made mine I sealed mine with white glue and paint and a little grit. |
