Hi All,

Today I fought out the next battle in my Hyboria campaign. It was Zingara vs Argos, the two main mercantile nations in Hyboria, They are kind of Spanish and Roman. Well I wanted to do something different so I made some galleys to fight a sea battle at the same time as the land battle. I also wanted two strongholds as the battle was to be fought over a no-mans land.

Here are some pics.

I also read there was a region just between Zingara and Argos called The Forest of Ghouls. How could I not add a twist to the battle?

Please see more over at the blog.

Note to self: How the hell can I make great furled sails. Any ideas peeps?

Cool. I just started on my first element of a HOTT Numedian army.

Looks great — and HotT is perfect for Hyborea!

Love the retro ME figs.

As for sails, at the size of those craft you could probably use thin cloth – old cotton work shirts etc.

Thanks everyone for the great feedback. These Hyboria battles are great to do. These armies were made from a mix of historical and fantasy figures, but really they just sort of came together out of odd E-bay purchases. Good spot Evilgong on the Minifigs ME figures. Point being is that in Hyboria you can use anything from Egyptians to Vikings.

Thanks to everyone for the advice about the sails. At the moment coloured tissue paper looks like a good idea to try.

79th it would be great to see your Hyboria stuff when it is ready.

Brilliant!, your best AAR yet, I particularly like the galleys.

You had me at Hyboria. Very nice.

For sails, you can use foil, or tshirts stiffened with some thinned white glue/PVA and shape the sail while it's drying.
