Wut it says in the title

Well it would be hard for GW to bring back Warmaster after they had killed off WFB.

Plus if they did they would have to do it in 15mm since they believe in hosing over their old customers.

Warmaster: Revolution. It's not too difficult to put together a force for Warmaster, since there are a few companies still making 10-12mm fantasy miniatures.

infinite – is that a rule set?

We occasionally play Kings of War using 10mm figs

Dave – Yes, it's a combination of Warmaster and Warmaster Ancients, being developed by a Czech group.

You can find it here:

They're currently on version of 0.5 of the rules, with 1.0 being the next goal. The Rules Committee is working on stuff like standardizing costs across the factions, tweaking some costs and special rules, deciding on using original or tournament variants, etc.

We still play Warmaster, now and again, as it was written.

I think there is a fan made fantasy version of Hail Caesar which would be a natural evolution.

D3H2 (DBA 3.0 fantasy) or A Game of Fire and Ice.

Playable in all scales, with simple easy to use big battle mechanics.

Working on a Warhammer specific verion as I type…

If interested come to NashCon or Historicon – running games at both cons.

Battle of Five Armies.

Okay, it actually is Warmaster with the various errors in the original corrected. The setting is Middle-Earth, so the army lists and magic spells/ magical items are different from the original, but the rules are the same. Alas, it is also OOP.

But it's what I play, so it's neither gone nor forgotten.

Parzival – are any of the army lists online? I'd like to do orcs vs dwarves but with a LOTR flavor.

Sword & Spear Fantasy covers the same sort of size battles as Warmaster, and is ideal for LOTR battles.

As far as I am concerned nothing has ever replaced Warmaster, and never will. It's a great game and NEEDS no replacing!

I'm using Hail Caesar Rules.

As always, comments are appreciated.

Take care

Hail caesar and and the Fantasy fan expansion should work. My preference though is Mighty Armies. A nice balance of fantasy personality and quick enough play…

I've read many of the suggestions here and played a few too, Warmaster is still my favorite.
