Doing some painting at work during my lunch break. A little distracted and wham, dipped my paint brush into my drinking cup.

I can now scratch that milestone off my bucket list.

Done that, but a friend did worse. When he was a new dad, a little sleep deprived, completed a group of french Napoleonics--around 50 figures. and went to put clear matte finish on them. In stead used white primer.

Ouch, I wonder who cried more the babe or the dad?

Hey Chris I thought I was the only to have done that!!!

Saxondog31 May 2017 11:09 a.m. PST

Done it all. Primed painted figures and all. Dipped my brush in my drink within the first couple of days of painting. That would be around 1980. Primed good figures…..about 2000. Dropped knives/sharp files, dropped things on figures, dropped figures, most of us probably have a list.

Wait, you paint figures at work?

Lunch break

I often painted during my lunch break for a couple years, too. It was my 30 minute decompression time. I was working a lot of hours and a lot, if not most, weekends. My subordinates and boss would come by with questions about stuff and I'd keep painting, take a bite of salad or a sandwich, answer the questions.

That's better than drinking out of your painting water cup.

Ron W DuBray31 May 2017 12:54 p.m. PST

the next one is to drink from your bush cup. :)

37 years never did that, one cat has drank my paint water. Painted some of my Prussian Garde du Corp on the flightline at Langley AFB on night shift.

Did you still drink your brew?

wrgmr131 May 2017 9:45 p.m. PST

Yes, I've dipped it into coffee, water, beer and wine.
I'm a semi-habitual dipper.

Done it so often I started to think that the sable was a critter that just naturally tasted of coffee.

Phil Hall01 Jun 2017 8:27 a.m. PST

I know a guy who, back the '70s, painted 6000+ Napoleonics while sitting in the control room of a missile silo in ND

Atoric01 Jun 2017 9:35 a.m. PST

Oh I've never done that before… Joking, done it too many times to count. Now, I place drinking cups out of arms reach HAHA
