I have recently gotten into old west gaming and settled on using 32mm minis with 30mm bases. Now, I want to start building out a town. There are a lot of options and I think I am leaning towards Sarissa, Battle Flag, and Knuckleduster (I hear they are coming out with new buildings soon). However, when I took the dimensions from a Sarissa building and tried drawing out a floor plan for a saloon it seemed like it would be a very tight squeeze for 30mm bases with interior details. Which buildings best fit 32mm minis with 30mm bases? Or is it just a matter of efficiently using the space? |

When my playing group did the Wild West we used buildings with open interiors. Very large buildings sometimes got more than one room. Figure bases and interior details just don't go together. |

It is mostly the doors that set the scale. You should be able to make them a bit larger without too much trouble. |

You might consider the PDF from Hotz Arts. You could then rescale to accomodate your bases. 30mm bases are going to be tough, no doubt. |

I have done a lot of old west building comparisons in my blog. This is the post from the last time I updated. link I have opted for 25mm bases as building interiors are always very restrictive in just about any building that is appropriately sized to our miniatures. |

Yeah, this is a tough one. Often some interior portions are too tight for even a 25mm base. 30mm would be pushing it with most ranges I know (only if you put interior details in). While it would kill the immersion, perhaps have some stand-in figures on 20-25mm bases to "represent" the figures inside if you find a building range you really like but it doesn't fit? |
