I had my ears plugged when Firelock Games was running it's Kickstarter for Blood and Plunder. But the flesh is weak. The stuff just starting to hit online retailers, and I am wondering: can anyone tell me what a small, "regular", and large game might look like, 'unit' and figure-count wise? |

About 6 units of 4 figures plus a leader for a 150 point game. Check out the units they have available on their website under each of the English, French and Spanish. |

Elite forces tend to be smaller where inexperienced forces a bit larger. A smaller force is between 15 and 25 models, 25 and 50 for a medium sized game and 50 to 100 or more for a larger sized game. Those numbers assume your playing on land. If your playing at sea, they can be significantly lower (or not!). The Nationality starters that include 25 models are a great way to dive right in. |

Thank you for your input. I have ordered a handful of the minis, to see what I think of them. However, I was really considering the rules for Anglo-Spanish skirmishes in the Caribbean, since I already have some Old Glory and Foundry minis painted up, and in increments that (it now seems) would suit these rules. I was hoping to use something that involved small units such as this. Though I may still ultimately get sucked into the 17th century with it yet. We'll see. Either way, I will grab the rulebook when it comes available. |
