15mm and 28mm Fanatik | 29 May 2017 11:39 a.m. PST |
I am looking for a professional painter experienced in WWII German camouflage schemes (Splinter, Tan/Water, Plane Tree, Pea Dot, etc.) for a 28mm army. Feel free to submit suggestions here or solicit/PM me directly. Any pictures (gallery on your website, etc.) of such work you can point me toward or send me will aid in my final decision. I need high to collector level quality (comparable to the quality shown in the pics below), so please submit your suggestions accordingly. Thanks. P.S. Due to location I prefer US-based services but will consider all painting services based on quality and price (in that order).

We have painted basically any pattern of german camo, both heer and ss, over the years. Attached you find some examples of our wargame quality, so expect collector to be higher. We are based in Italy

Truely honoured that you used my pics for reference…I dont paint 28mm but im interested to know what manufacturer and packs you would want doing, as il invest in a couple just to see how they turn out. |

Hi Daryl, Thank you and Mick in Switzerland for your quick responses. The figures I have are late war Germans from Artizan Designs (see pics below). They are now having helmet covers sculpted on by a friend. I used your pics of the 20mm figures because they reflect the quality I am looking for and frankly I am impressed with them. Might I pursuade you to give painting 28mm figures a go? I'm sure with your skills making the transition from 20mm to 28mm would not be an issue.

Il order a pack and il also ignore they have hooded smocks and will just try ss camo schemes as thats all I currently can paint. I had a look at artizan and its a pity they don't do standard infantry with ankle boots. Can you recommend any other company who make standard infantry with ankle boots with or without gaitors…as I can just remove the shoulder boards and peadot them all over. You could give 20mm a go instead :-) :-) I guess the artizan inf with long boots could be "greenstuffed" to make the trousers longer? |

Btw, long boots are just something I dont like. Even though they were used till the end of the war. |

Warlord makes standard German infantry (tunics only, no smocks or zeltbahnen) in ankle boots, but they're plastic and unavailable for purchase in small numbers if you're looking to just paint a few to try out. I have too many nicely painted WWII armies in 28mm to switch to 20mm I'm afraid. At least I tried. Thanks for your honesty and may you continue to excel in your 20mm painting. |

Thx for the link Mick. As i said Il give that one pack of artizan a go and il practice painting more camo schemes. I may end up being pleasantly surprised :-) |

I have substantial experience painting 15 and 28mm WW2 sculpts. I can send examples of my work if you PM my email, found on my website: paintedarmiesstudio.com Also, I have many Artizan sculpts which I've picked up from Lon at Briggade Games over the years. Excellent miniatures. Regards, Sean |
