Do these come with the horses ? Are they compatible with Elite and Front Rank miniatures( size wise)? Anyone have an answer for these 2 question would be much appreciated. Thanks all. |

They do come with horses. Just as well as very unique saddles, shabraques and horse furniture. Shame that there is only one galloping horse, one walking horse and an officer's horse. I found that they can be "individualised" by bending or straightening free legs and painting different skin colours meant it is not an issue for me anyway. Elite, Perry, Westfalia (now Black Hussar), Foundry no problem……perfect fit. Standard 28mm figs
Front Rank are a law unto themselves. I would never mix any other range with them within the same unit. But side by side, no problem. Calpe are somewhere between FR and the Usual Suspects. Not quite as hefty….. |

There was, what, one company of Mamelukes in the Chasseurs a Cheval? |

My understanding is one company at first. Slightly expanded as admission became more open to folk who had never seen the Pyramids. Two companies (one Old and one Young Guard) to comprise a squadron. I am no expert on them, just a huge fan of the figures and their painting potential. I have two conversions from Gringos40 sitting around for months awaiting attention. Early style Mamelukes basically. Perry Mahdists proved useful! |
