"A selection of photos of the 'Black Hand' Luchs along with Luchs "35" – with particular thanks to Paul Hocking.

It's likely this little reconnaissance Panzer had carried typical Pz-A-A.9 four-digit tactical numbers, quite possibly applied over now missing 2.cm ammo boxes and placards originally attached to the turret jerrycan brackets, akin to say Luchs "41 34". That is, as opposed to numbers directly painted onto the turret plates, as per Luchs "41 21". It also seems plausible this tank may have carried an additional earlier-style(?) set of black-outlined white 2-digit numbers, similar to "35" brought back to the USA.

I base all this speculation on the observation both the 'Black Hand' Luchs and Luchs "35" vehicles bear tell-tale hangers welded to the upper right corners of their left turret sides, where the 2.cm ammo boxes …."
