I was first introduced to the hobby of miniatures through the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 1st Edition. I loved 2nd edition too and while I did buy 3rd edition 2nd hand I never played it.
With a 4th edition planned for later this year have you any interest or are your roleplaying needs already satisfied. If you are interested what direction would you like it to take? A new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay will be launched by Cubicle 7 Entertainment later this year. The new edition will return players to Warhammer's grim world of perilous adventure, and takes its direction from the first and second editions of the game. Cubicle 7 CEO Dominic McDowall said, "Like so many gamers I grew up on Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. It's an iconic setting and I'm thrilled to be working on this new edition of the game. Our team have a huge breadth of experience with Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, and I'm excited to be able to bring the Cubicle 7 approach to the Old World. We'll be revealing more of our plans in the coming months, so subscribe to our newsletter and keep an eye on our website!" Full article here: link |

I was never much into WHFRPG, even while I was playing WFB… my armies were Slann and High Elves, neither of which was well represented in the rpg. These days, my rpg needs are met by OSR and Clasdic Traveller. Not that I actually play, but if I ever do the campaign has SO much material now… |

I really enjoyed the 3rd edition. Or was it 2nd? The one before Fantasy Flight made the funky dice. I also liked the original. |

I came across Traveller a few months ago by accident (Juge Dredd) as I'm not a sci-fi guy really but the character design was so awesome I plan on doing something with it in the future. Ratbone I think you mean 2nd then…the funky die are 3rd :) |

I ran a brief Warhammer Fantasy Role Play game back during its first edition. We had a great time and I mixed some of the 40K universe into the game which made for an interesting campaign. I had not run RPGs in a long time and recently picked up the main three books for 5th Edition D&D. Before that I had run a few games of Pathfinder. 5th Ed. D&D seems to hit all the right cords with me. They have managed to take all the vast game mechanics and present them in a manageable and fun way. Still, I remember with fondness that Warhammer Fantasy RPG campaign.Alas I don't think I will want to give the 4th Ed. a go as I feel that 5th Ed. D&D is going to meet my needs and the desires of my players. |

We played WHFRP back in the day. Taking a break from D&D it was a BLAST! I loved the thick atmosphere baked into the rules. It was very immersive. Combat was quick, fun and very deadly. Frankly I think 1st edition ages well and not sure it needs an update. I heard 3rd was awful. Xin |
