I may have gone a little overboard on the number of commandstands and ADCs for my French 15mm Nap army…. Have a nice weekend folks! Cheers! Erik

If this is just the command stands……… Just how big is the army itself? Brilliant display and photography. Depth of focus is impressive, is it via that new IT trick of taking serial images and then fitting them all together, or just doing it outdoors, a nice day, a high f number and a long exposure? |
Dr Jeckyll | 26 May 2017 4:22 a.m. PST |
I am afraid the French army would not fit on one or even two of these tables…I have posted some of the cavalry here earlier in bits, but I guess I have around 100+ regiments (12-16 figs each) of cavalry. The infantry is the main bulk. I would say there are perhaps 150 Line/light infantry battalions (of 24-36 figs each) and another 60 Guard battalions… some 50 cannons with crew.. and all of this is not counting the FRench allies. I know, madness..my goal was to assemble the entire Grande Armee of 1812. I have only got all the French and their regiments etranger along with the Croats, Swiss, Bavarians, Saxons, Polish, Portugese, Spanish and Vistula legion done so far. I still have most of the rest of the Confederation troops to go along with the Italians and Neapolitans. I have never actually had it all out at once, but I probably should one day! The photos are just taken with my Iphone on a fairly sunny day (in the shade) yesterday, so no real trick to it;) |

Wow! OK, I am impressed in every way! It would be nice to see the whole army if the authorities will allow you to close the street and set it all out. Thanks for sharing. |

Nice one Marc……. Pathetic isn't it? Get it finished like the man said…….. You could probably do Napoleon's post Berezina Army on a 1:1 basis as it is! |

They are beautiful… AND… damn, that is a LOT of command…. how huge are the armies??? |
Dr Jeckyll | 26 May 2017 10:01 a.m. PST |
Well Dan, the French alone,Perhaps 5-6000 infantry, 1500 cavalry, 50 cannons and crew/train etc.. really a monomaniac project yes..🙄 But it is still fun!! And hopefully it will all be on display at once one day! I will post it here if and when they finnally do and I get some group photos😉 |
deadhead | 26 May 2017 10:53 a.m. PST |
As long as you have Gendarmes d'Elite and 2e Eclaireurs de la G, the rest is padding…… Mind you, the photos of the whole lot will be impressive. Wait for fine day though………..one sudden shower out of the blue…… |
Dr Jeckyll | 26 May 2017 1:01 p.m. PST |
Oh they are counted for deadhead! And the mamelukes and all the young guard squadrons as well😉 However, I realize that I should also here stress that I did not paint all these myself! Several painters have helped me over the years, and I can only claim about half of them as "mine"! Awsome people like Rafa "Archiduque", Neil Kenneally, John Stonesypher, Dal Dunbar and FE all should share the credit due for the madness😜!! Just making sure…. |

Only half he says…. and the rest by masters of the art too……. This collection is some kind of national treasure almost. It must be fairly unique. Last comment. He took these pics on his phone. I buy lenses, reflectors, tripods, many a spotlight. I use a ten year old DSLR camera (but it cost £700.00 GBP ten years ago) and a 30 year old camera for ultra close ups, that only takes 35mm film, but cost £800.00 GBP back then (now worth £35.00 GBP on e Bay). Why do I bother? Great pics |

Thanks for all the nice comments, as well as confirming my missus suspicience that I may be more Mr Hyde than Dr Jeckyll when it comes to this hobby😬 Briscoe: they are 15/18mm's, mostly ABs with some Old Glory, Blue Moons, CGM, Warmoddeling in there as well. Along with some headswaps and conversions I have done. Seriously, all the picturea on my flickr are with an Iphone. The latest model 7 is better than most digital cameras and easy to use with autoupload to FB, flickr, the cloud whatwver! |

Thats really something Erik, very inspiring! I have a feeling you would have to rent out a space but you definitely need to get all of your army out on parade sometime |

So where do I now stick my camera that is now worth about £2,000.00 GBP, except on e Bay it is worth £20.00 GBP as it is almost 15 years old (but brilliant lenses etc)? I do feel my age and your presentation is amazing…. Takes me back. When I was your age, the nurses all said the same thing, as long as the first wife did not find out……you can guess the rest. |

Superb!! Wonderful stuff. |
Dr Jeckyll | 30 May 2017 5:53 a.m. PST |
Thanks for all the nice comments folks:) I am not sure what the nurses would say if I showed them my miniature collection Liam, then again, it might be just what I need to fell more shameful about spending so much time on this madness;) |
Gunner Dunbar | 31 May 2017 5:06 a.m. PST |
Um wow, hand them all a musket and send them into the breach. |
Dr Jeckyll | 31 May 2017 6:45 a.m. PST |
Yeah, they should get their fancy uniforms a bit dirty also…typical brass, their own circular stands and all… Some of the Guard Chasseurs you painted for me are in there as well Dan:) They are in the second picture from the bottom, dodging a cannonball the size of a watermelon;) |

Thanks guys! And you might recognize some well know AB officers in there as well Rafa:)!! the Large vignette of Napoleon on horse and the one of the staff at the table amongst others were some of the ones you painted up in 2013. I feel lucky to have such fantastic painters like Dan, Rafa, Neil, Gav and John paint minis for me!! The collection is in all modesty pretty awesome by now;) |
