Go to Phoenix and visit the Heard Museum.

or Tombstone, AZ – kind of touristy but the country down there is beautiful, and hasn't changed all that much. Also Jerome, or Prescott up north. Pretty much anywhere that isn't Phoenix/Scottsdale/Glendale/Peoria/Gilbert, etc. AKA Greater Phoenix.
