Does anyone know of any 28mm scale church or chapel model suitable for a Byzantine scenario (Durrės 1081?) Time is running out and I'm not sure I am going to have the time to build one for myself.Resin or card preferred but I'll consider MDF if necessary.

Would this work?

I would think of Byzantine church as made of stone. Wooden Orthodox church screams "Russian!". Late Roman church may be good, but styles changed over the years. Unfortunately, nothing comes to mind as far as models. I would buy one myself!

I seem to recall seeing some Late Roman piece that looked very close to what you were looking for, and was a stone-built structure with some stucco areas. Someone was using it for Post-Roman Britain.

I wish I could remember where I saw it.

It wasn't as nice as these gorgeous examples though:

While you find a solid 3-D one …

This paper one looks close too, though I wouldn't have made the walls so tall.

These look really nice too:

An Antiochian Orthodox Church would not have an onion dome. Cacique Caribe's examples are perfect for your purposes.

Remember if you do scratch-build, the Orthodox Cross has three horizontal crosspieces as opposed to one.

Only if it's the seat of a bishop. Otherwise only two crosspieces.

Thanks everyone. I'll ponder my new options.

I would expect that it would have a pretty much square floorplan – based on a Greek cross with the angles filled.
link is an Albanian example, though the terrain prevents the full square.

Some great suggestions there- I'd be inclined to go with the square layout suggested.

I'm working on the same scenario for a game next year- I'd be interested in swapping notes…

One of the resin building makers, just possibly Kobblestone, used to have one on the front of their website, which never made it into production, so far as I know. Looking at their ranges now, it might be something they'd consider adding to their Medieval/Mediterranean line.

Hey Bruntonboy. If you want to do a search on thingiverse.com for "church" you will find several possible files. If you know anyone with or access to a 3d printer you might go that route.

bruntonboy25 May 2017 1:27 p.m. PST

Thanks Waco Joe there are some interesting thins there. I just need to find a "friend" with printer access now. :)

BEC Fab Lab closed down,

But speak to Andrew at Hadrian's hobbies, he has a 3D printer in the shop, or Jon at Z1 designs might be able to help.
