I am starting work on Skirmish Action rules for Modern and had two questions I'd appreciate your help with to make sure the rules appeal to the largest number of gamers. First, would you organize Army Lists by Country where all US troops and vehicles from 1945 to present would be on one list. Very large list. OR would you organize by Conflict where lists for all major combatants were grouped together. For example Korea, Viet Nam, Arab-Israeli, Gulf Wars etc. Second would you prefer to game Skirmish Level Modern in 15mm, 1/72 or 28mm scale? Note sure 6mm would work but please feel free to suggest other scales as well. Thank you for your thoughts and help! Cheers! Lee |

By conflict. Why would scale matter? |

Advocate. Very good observation. My Skirmish Action WWII rules can be used with any scale from 15mm to 28mm with good results and good tabletop visual appeal. I mostly wanted to see if 6mm or 10mm had a lot of interest because I would then add some range conversions etc to use those scales. Also on a very personal note I plan on running demo games at cons and would like to run them in the more popular scale(s). Cheers! Lee |

I *never* adjust scales for figure size. I play Flames of War, for example, in 6mm exactly as written. This is even more so the lower level game you go. The major reason to adjust ground scales and measurements is to play on a smaller table. I would do army lists by conflict. Especially since TO&E gets changed in the field. |

I have my 6mm figures based for skirmish. Affordable to do multiple basing in 6mm. Write the rules to match 15mm with measurements in inches and it is easy to use CM for 6mm instead. Either army list organization works. Even if doing by country first it would have to be broken down by conflict anyway. |

Group lists by conflict. I prefer 28mm for skirmish level games |

Going to be different and say list by country. If nothing else you are going to have lots of duplication listing by conflict (for example Arab-Israeli 67 and 73). |

Grouped by conflict AND by nation, if you have space. I mean, the US Army in Europe during the 1960s and early 1970s was quite different from the US Army in Vietnam. |

Second would you prefer to game Skirmish Level Modern in 15mm, 1/72 or 28mm scale? Can you take a guess at what my preference is? Though ironically all my Modern minis are in 15mm thanks to Team Yankee, but that's okay since TY isn't 1:1 skirmish. |

I would prefer 28mm as well. |

28mm minis are expensive, particularly vehicles. If I hadn't already gone all-in on 15mm from Flames of War, I'd have gone with 20mm. Lots of 1/72 plastic kits to pull from. |

By conflict. The vehicles change quite a lot. A T55 in Angola is different from a GDR T55AM etc… as is the Shot from the !947 Centurion. |
