The loss of the battle of Lehre has disrupted Napoleon's plans.
He had intended to take and hold Lehre then move the 1st corps (Imperial Garde) north to join with 3rd corps and attack Blucher at Wolfsburg. But he now has to hold 1st corps at Lehre to protect his southern flank and allow 13th corps to rally and regroup.
This will allow Blucher to consolidate his position at Wolfsburg, resupply his two corps there and launch an attack against the outnumbered 3rd corps.
To disrupt the Prussian preparations, Napoleon orders 4th corps to attack Jeggau. If he can take that town he will threaten the Prussian northern flank and ease the pressure on 3rd corps in the centre.
The French win the battle of Jeggau, the Prussians retreat and Napoleon has regained the initiative.
