Hi Guys,
I ran a playtest of the scenario I'll be hosting at DieCon in Collinsville IL next month, and thought I'd share a few photos of the action here.

The initial probe begins against the pocket's perimeter defences -

The main Martian assault forces its way through the mine belt while engaging the defending armored turrets -

Texas Armor in full fury – counterattacking out of Adobe Flats in a desperate bid to turn the invaders back -

Guys, thanks for all these tremendous and encouraging words!

Micman, hope you have a great time this weekend with AQMF too.

I've been a late joiner to this gaming rage, as I've never been much of a SF gamer at all, but a friend got into the game early, and has been keeping the "heat on" so to speak over the past few years. Recently, with Miniature Market (Ironclad) buying out the rights (who are based in my home town here), I figured the time was right for me to expand my "Worlds" view.

Like so many of you already know, this game is so much fun! Also like so many other games/periods too, it takes a bit of experience to create balanced forces and matches with – and this is one reason I've gone more mechanized ((WWII-ish with my human collection building), than towards the infantry-heavy tactics and builds of the closer-Great War era).

Perhaps in the up-coming Siege of Europa addition there will be rationalization/support for human vs. human opposition, and then I can take this desert collection to potential conflicts inspired by warring in the Middle East or North Africa, but against the "Hun"……it won't be Monty vs. Rommel of course, but something retro and steamy that can evolve on its own right. The AQMF game system does play so well IMO, and quite a few in our gaming group have commented that the core game mechanics would make a great basis for a WW2 armor rules set too!

Guys, thanks for all these tremendous and encouraging words!

And yet, SO deserved!

"You sure have a purdy game board…'

By the way, where are you seeing rumors of a Siege of Europa addition?

Thanks Doug!

There's a few threads about Siege of Europa on Ironclad's forum and on the AQMF net too:

The 'Pecos Pocket' went off well this past weekend at DieCon, and I think everyone had a good time playing it.
Here's a few pics from the hall -

Had an amusing moment with the last picture: 'What's that gnarled slope in the foreground?'

'Oh, wait, that's his sleave…' ;->=

Did your results keep alive the hopes of fearful mankind, or do the dreaded 'intelligences greater than man's and yet as mortal as his own' tighten their noose around our necks?

Well Doug, I'm putting together my ideas for the next scenario planned – "Breakthrough" (and just bought some ground materials to be able to scatter over part of the up-coming terrain board with red weed). ;)
