Browsing Francesco's site I came across these

franznap.jigsy.com

Really interesting and good looking figures

1/72 scale of course

Metal

It looks like Franznap offers mostly what could be called specialty figures. Presumably they're made for collectors rather than wargamers. Not a criticism, just thinking.

Still, those are amazing figures; they're little works of art! I'm a little surprised that they're not better known than they are. 1/72 figures must be more popular in Europe than they are here in the U.S.

They certainly are more popular in Europe esp in Germany and are incredibly detailed and animated. See those Lithuanian Tartars. Previously we have seen DB Carabiniers, straight out of that well known painting. Some superb releases by more than one maker. Mostly German again.

Great looking figures, and certainly lighter than metal!

No Jeig. Very much not the case. He makes an absolutely lovely range of wargame suitable figures – I have his Baden infantry – 4 battalions, his French carabiners in bearskins, Baden cheveau-Peter, French horse artillery and more.

I can only recommend his full range. His artillery is unbelievable – he makes firing and loading poses – with the French, 8 of each. So for my wargame batteries using 4 crew I get incredible variety.

But he also provides a great variety of specials. Those hussars dismounted etc – I will be making a command group out of those based on a picture of the gardes d'honneur

Stress these will be metal figures, not plastic.

what we see here are the "greens"……the planning stage for creating moulds and casting

LoL. I knew that Jeff. I just wanted to "spread the love" for these figures
