Excellent article in Miniature Wargames June issue on painting the Army of Gondolin. Most inspiring. I always had a plan to create middle earth forces using non fantasy figures (other then orcs etc) and this has inspired me to look at it again. Looking forward to the 2nd part. |

I've finally managed to paint enough minis to get playing a Starter Game of "Guild Ball". So for those interested I've posted up an AAR of our match. For now it simply features a Captain and two players aside on a 2x2 pitch. But we've already got our two sides' club mascots painted ready for the next match, and am hoping to do further games as we increase the size of our teams; as well as populate the field with different bits of scenery etc. Ultimately it would be fun to have a match within a 3x3 medieval village ;D
Thanks for looking :) fantorical.blogspot.co.uk/2017/05/guild-ball-report-union-verses-engineers.html |

I should check that issue out. I painted my GW High Elves like the various houses of Gondolin Tolkien described in The Book of Lost Tales. Poorly, but whattyagonnado? |

And I assume BlaxKleric's post is just another reminder that this site is buggy as hell. |

Read the article – sorry, not for me. Didn't suggest enough of the finery and majesty of Gondolin – felt more early period Feanor and his arrival |
