TMP loses another valuable member?

This is so sad. Weasel will be sorely missed and we're all the poorer for his departure, temporary or permanent. He's a gentleman and a cracking good game designer, exactly the kind of person we desperately need here and now he feels he must step away. It's been a hard last five or six years. How many more will walk away or be driven out? It's really very sad and so tragically unnecessary.

Posting that picture was an escalation of the discussion into an argument, with a clear implication that Legion4 was suggesting the killing of women and children.

In my view, that's a clear violation of forum rules.

And if Weasel can't accept that, there's nothing I can do. I'm not saying he has to agree with me. I'm just saying that I have to make judgment calls, and if he feels he can't accept that situation, then he should take a time out.

Personally, I think he's being a little snowflake about the whole thing. What's the big deal? But that's just my opinion.

Agreed. Both Bill and Legion overreacted. Weasel was just illustrating what the Nazis meant for anti-partisan warfare, i.e. the murder of civilians in retaliation to partisan attacks. See "Ordinary Men", by Christopher Browning, or still better, Ben Sepherd's "War in the Wild East".

I understood his post as a reminder to Legion4 that he hadn't thought thru his proposal and that Nazi anti-partisan warfare wasn't actually a model to follow for modern military.

By the way, Weasel, I hope you reconsider and come back soon. I, for one, appreciated your posts. And yes, you didn't anything wrong.

Why? It perfectly expresses how I feel. Part of being on a forum is accepting that you're going to get moderated once in a while. Maybe the moderator is right, and maybe the moderator is having a bad day. Either way, leaving a forum because you got moderated and didn't like it seems wussy to me.
