Woman Injured by Camel at Beauvoir Files Suit (05/12/2017) A Mississippi woman has filed a lawsuit alleging that she was injured by a camel at Beauvoir, the last home of Confederate president Jefferson Davis. The lawsuit was filed in Harrison County Circuit Court against the United Sons of Confederate Veterans Inc., identified as the operator of Beauvoir. According to the complaint, the woman visited the Biloxi tourist attraction in October 2015, and she was injured when the camel attacked her during her visit. The plaintiff alleges that she was injured mentally and physically and that the defendants should have recognized the camel's dangerous tendencies. - link |

I suspect the lady's (?) perfume was to blame. If she was using Eau de Bedouin, that drives camels mad. |

Hmmm, the incident happened in October 2015 and she is just now filing her lawsuit, 19 months later? Hope it is thrown out on her ear. Jim |

does anyone remember a great comic book story from one of the warren magaines in the 1970's. Its about a troop of US camel troopers being ambushed and wiped out before the ACW. Only 1 young trooper survived. Many years later the trooper is prospecting in NM and is surrounded waiting to die. The Apaches charge and a strange apparition appears. It is Corpse of trooper's dead Sgt on a pld camel. Art by John Severn. |

Perhaps she decided to take action before Mr Davis is declared a non-person in the whole country. I suspect that his home will be shut down, and all reference to him removed. First New Oleans, next Mississippi. As in the actions of Winston Smith, Davis is now an un-person. Soon I will try to order Dixie from I-tunes but be told it is no longer appropriate. link |

The attack was in October 2015 and the suit was filed on 5/12/2017? When did she recognize the animal's dangerous tendencies? A loss of memory and decision-making ability must have been two effects of the mental injuries. |

Or she tried to seek redress through non-judicial channels and is now left with filing a lawsuit. e.g. "Your camel injured me, will you pay the medical bills?" "No. Give it up lady, it's a lost cause." |
