Clearly "mellowing" was not the most accurate descriptive word for TMP.

I'm thinking "soap opera" might nearer fit the bill.

Mellowing, no. Contracting and hardening, yes.

Apparently not.

There are a lot of extra-large egos in the hobby. Some don't think they should have to abide by forum rules. Some think their opinions are worth more than other gamers' opinions.

It is perfectly natural for a few prima donas to 'take a stroll' away from TMP from time to time. It's nothing to lose sleep over. No moderator will ever please everybody.

"Is TMP mellowing?"

What's the opposite of "self-fulfilling prophecy"?

Physician heal thyself…

I'm not sure I want to take advice from the man behind Nazi Salute. It's the 10-year anniversary, isn't it?

Bill

Let's pretend that – in some way – you're right.*

You're not, of course, but – for the sake of healthy, adult debate – (like what I woz taught at skool) let's pretend. Let's assume that – ten years ago I was just one big nazi lover and I probably still am: I dig those uniforms. I have one myself and wear it every day**.

If that were true, would my advice to you have been any less relevant? Would my suggestion that you:

a) Stop pouring gasoline on fires (and – for that matter – stop setting the fires in the first place)

b) Take your own advice and be "mature" by "learning to accept criticism from others"

Would me being a fan of Hitler (or Stalin/Mao delete as appropriate) actually invalidate that advice?

Er…

No.

It was – and is – good advice from, not just me, but just about everyone else that has commented.

Bill your response has all of the intellectual voracity of answering my point with "yo momma".

Discuss.

PS Hold that door Weasel…

* You weren't at the show, you weren't at the committee meetings at the Warlords where votes were cast (though not by me) on whether the reenactors were invited (and not by me personally) and you weren't at the Warlords committee meetings where the ‘fallout' from the event was discussed either so – as ever – you have no actual idea what you're talking about but don't let that stop you. Sorry – what was I thinking – you don't let anything stop you… Get a dictionary and look up the term "collective responsibility" and no: I don't care whether it's a Webster's or an Oxford English

** A powder blue Goering one to go over the gut, obviously…

If that were true, would my advice to you have been any less relevant?

Absolutely. If your judgment was so questionable then, why would it have improved today?

If your financial adviser makes a terrible misjudgment, do you keep using him? Or do you replace him?

Stop pouring gasoline on fires (and – for that matter – stop setting the fires in the first place)

I'm sorry if you think certain questions shouldn't be asked, or if certain problems should be swept under the rug. My position is that grown men should be able to discuss these subjects reasonably.

Take your own advice and be "mature" by "learning to accept criticism from others"

Do you realize how arrogant you sound? Why do you assume I don't listen to feedback? What exactly do you want me to change? It's cheap shots like that which put you in a poor light.

In answer to my previous post…it seems not…just needed the editor to stir things up and poke people. Sigh, guess when you have a God rather than a team of moderators you have to either accept it or leave. Think I'll stay as the site is still useful and just ignore the tmp talk board.

I say it's all BadWargamer's fault. Dude, you jinxed us all!!! :)

I agree…all my fault!
