Who makes the best Seven Years War/French and Indian War 15mm scale miniatures on the market today? Feel free to explain why if you would like. (a) Blue Moon (Old Glory Corp) (b) Essex (c) Eureka (d) Freikorps 15 (QRF Models) (e) Frontier Miniatures (f) Gallia (Warrior) (g) Irregular (h) Miniature Figurines (a.k.a. I think Minifigs are the best-proportioned figures you can buy. In the SYW range the poses are very good and there aren't any of the over-extended 'lunge' poses you find among their AWI and Napoleonics. The cavalry are, admittedly, an acquired taste – the horses have the small heads you will find in 18th century paintings – but personally I like them. |

I do like Essex, I've never had too much of an issue with the short leg syndrome. However, I think for price and quality Blue Moon is a safe choice. I have not seen the Eureka, but they are probably of very high quality. |

Why is Frontier on the list? I would lean towards Blue Moon for their combination of quality and price point. |

If Blue Moon are 18mm presumably they are not compatible with the 15mm ranges? |

The horse might be but the foot, no. |

Most of our SYW/FIW figures are Minifigs and quite nice. We do have a pack of Blue Moon Indians and one of French Troops de la Marine and they are wonderful. |

I am presently building SYW armies with a combination of Eureka and Blue Moon figures. The sizes of their figures are very compatible. 79thPA here is a link to UK Frontier Miniatures' Seven Years War website: link |

Sadly that Frontier link will not allow you to buy from it. |

Having tried OG, Minifigs and Gallia I plumped for Blue Moon, really nice figures, I also use Eureka in my armies. |

Eureka, 'cause they are lovely figs and I live 10mins from the shop! |

Blue Moon are great figures but I find the large discounts from Old Glory are an important factor. |
