I am looking to start a retinue for King Richard the Lion Heart for Lion Rampant and was looking for recommendations on 28 mm figure ranges.

I look forward to the opinions on the best ranges…

Curtey's/1st Corps make some really nice figures. I believe they have a Richard I figure now too.

Second the 1st Corps figures, I really like them.

Take a look at Black Tree's Feudal Range as well for variety.

You might consider Fireforge Games plastics, very nice figures and cheaper than metal. They are designed roughly for the 13th centuary but I believe they would be suitable.

I'm in the same boat looking for metal late crusaders, 12th/13th centuries without much luck. Crusader has some, but the poses are kind of static/bland. Mirliton has some that might work, but I can't find any in the US and don't want to order samples from Italy. They appear to be on the smaller side of 28mm.

I may have to bite the bullet and go with plastic Fireforge. I am not much for plastic figs, but they appear to be the best out there for the period.

If you're looking for more variety Conquest Games has some new early 13th century knights on the way, too.

There is always Essex.

I think Mirliton may fit in with Fireforge?
I have Mirliton 15mm and they are exqyisite. Have seen their ancients 25mm lines and they are great too.
