I'm painting up some WSS Battalions based on the Ramillies Order of Battle but have hit a problem. The brigade I have chosen includes the Soutelande Dutch Regiment and I just can't find any details of their flag. I have the CD from Robert Hall but there is no information on this. Long shot – does anyone have any information on this ? Many thanks, Phil

…If Robert Hall didn't find anything, there might not be any information out there – I might just pick a flag from another Dutch Regiment… Still, I would really appreciate it if anyone has some info. Phil |

May be worth looking under name of lieutenant- colonel, Balthazar Jacquot? Or even one of the earlier colonels. I haven't got my copy of Hall to hand, but will have a look later. Link shows history of regiment. soldaten.16mb.com/dutreg.htm |

SD47, Thank you for the response. I should be clearer about the Hall CD – I did find the entry for this Regiment but it just lists "Flag : Unknown". Sorry, my fault. It is likely that the information is simply not known which is very frustrating ! In which case, I will either have to make something up (not good) or take inspiration from another Regiment. Thanks again, Phil

If there is no historical evidence available you might have to make something up. If Soutelande was a Dutch regiment then the Dutch spelling would probably be "Zoutelande". What about the coat of arms of the village Zoutelande : link |

Jacques, Thank you for the link – if nothing else turns up, then this might be the only option. Cheers, Phil
