"In the harsh environment of the desert, water is difficult to come by. These isolated pockets of vegetation provide a source of life-giving water to those who are lucky enough to stumble upon them…" See here link Amicalement Armand |

I don't think anyone involved in the North African Campaign ever "stumbled upon" an oasis. They went there deliberately. They were on maps…. |

Don't get me wrong, I like FOW, but why do both the rules and all their PR material have to be written in this style – ie aimed at 13 year olds, and likely to alienate anyone with a reading age above that? Wait. Have I already answered my own question? |

That model is a joke. No oasis is a puddle in the sand like that. Some of them are the size of an English county: link link |

That looks to be the same model I bought years ago – any particular reason it merits a post now? |

These isolated pockets of vegetation provide a source of life-giving water … I'm pretty sure that is exactly backwards -- it is the water that gives life to the vegetation! |

Possibly the simplest terrain piece to make. So why not buy it???!!! |

No oasis is a puddle in the sand like that. I can see an oasis having a "watering hole" such as that depicted, but the watering hole wouldn't be the entire oasis. |
