"In the fast-moving environment of the desert war, it is the tanks that usually get all the glory. But the hard work still belongs to the PBI, the ‘Poor Bloody Infantry'. For such a small unit, a motor company has plenty of firepower at its disposal. Their machine-guns, anti-tank guns, and mortars can deal with almost any opposition…" See here link Amicalement Armand |

Battlefront has been ditching ¨unnecessary¨ teams in V4. They´ve ditched a lot of command stands and stuff. I think most soft skins are going that way. After all, what do you want to spend money on: troops or trucks? |

"Their machine-guns, anti-tank guns, and mortars can deal with almost any opposition…" I offer no criticism of the figures shown in the link, nor of those who want to game with these (or any other) figures. But, as to the history of the era and the unit type modeled here (ie: British motor infantry in the desert campaigns), I think I am on pretty firm ground when I say that in an environment where tanks got all the glory, it was in large part because a motor company could not deal with almost any opposition. -Mark (aka: Mk 1) |
