Was just wondering of Khurasan Miniatures has closed its doors or their site is down for maintenance. I know few weeks ago their site has the maintenance sign on it. Now their site doesn't even come up. However they have a post of Facebook from the 6th of this month. Is anyone else having issues getting to their site? Is there something else going on. Any Info would be nice.

Thanks

His Facebook page has no indication of a problem. However, you are right, the site won't come up.

My understanding is that he takes down the site regularly, when he's working on stuff t hen opens it when he's ready to take orders

Pretty sure it is what Weasel said. I noticed a couple of days ago that the Khurusan website said exactly that—temporarily shut down to catch up on orders. It is something they do regularly.

I posted the TMP thread Skeptic is referencing. But if one reads that link, you can see the situation. Regardless, again he has never replied to my emails or on FB … frown

He just replied about an oldish order he is just about to send. So yes ok, just overloaded.
He who knows what it takes to be on your own small biz, does not throw the first stone.

I would advise patience. Earlier this year I had to wait upwards of three weeks for the site to get back online to place an order for some 15mm moderns via the webstore. I just checked back on a weekly basis until it's finally back up.

Once I placed the order it arrived in two weeks.

I'd like to place an order for 6mm J/Throne and it arrive in 2 weeks … frown

I have some personal issues with the owner of Khurasan. However, back when I did business with him I never had problems with an order even if he took down the site right after I placed it. I am sure he will be back online in his own time.

Never ordered but I much prefer a temporary closure to catch up and a return to normal later- which seems to happen here occasionally, than someone who just keeps taking orders and getting snowed under.

Just checked his site again, finally its coming up again but with a Maintenance Halt sign

His stuff is very nice and I am often tempted, but to keep within my budget I can't afford the potential vat and service charges.

At the same time, pstage from the US makes orders under the vat threshold much too expensive, so I will never order from him.

A great job of editing this post. Once I saw it, now I don't!

I have had a good experience with ordering from Khurasan. I made a mistake in my order by selecting HQ blisters instead of troop blisters (war of Spanish Succession range). Khurasan sent me an e-mail asking if that was really what I wanted, obviously not! I corrected it, he refunded me the few dollars (I think it was just 2 dollars, would have been OK with me if he kept it) and sent the figures I think the same day!

I have ordered his Israeli Infantry and Soviet T-64 tanks. While they are a bit pricey, they are fine quality resin and metal castings. No regrets, I will likely order from them in the future.

Yeah, Khurasan is suffering from the worst problem for any small business: being too successful to be able to keep up as a one-man shop, but not successful enough to move shipping out of his own house (and therefore able to hire minions to keep up with the shipping).

He goes down for maintenance halts about 3-4 times a year or so, almost always to catch up with orders. I think he also stops shipping over the holidays, but what can you do.

I've never had a bad business deal with the man, and I have a good bit of his stuff that I need to throw paint at. Not going to order more until I get the current backlog beaten down.

But I will order more stuff.
