I'm painting up some Sedition Wars terrain (for use in Scifi Rpging, not SW) that I've had stashed in the garage for a while. Painted a few interior doors and airlocks, and am starting on some computer stations/displays.

I'm trying to figure out what to paint on the displays, beyond an ambient blue-green glow. Free-hand some kind of cryptic-looking writing? Track down some decals that are suitable? Leave as-is? I'd welcome any feedback or input. Thanks!

Put a bullet hole in one.

Well, I've got enough of the terminals. I could definitely sacrifice one to reflect combat damage. :)

Print screens. You can do them as decals or just print them on paper and glue the screens on. Or several companies make decals

I agree with dragon6. Print them on paper and glue them on. If you want them to look shiny, dab a little Modge Podge or glossy craft glue to the front after the back dries.

Dark green with Light Green "text" which at that scale would just look like scribbly lines.
Maybe some column graphs
>>DANGER<< or >>RED ALERT<<
Base Maps

Quick google search gave me these gems:

Oh Wow! This pinterest page has a bunch of "Technology Wallpapers" that really fit the bill for printing out and gluing on

I'll try the scribbly, light-green text approach and see how that turns out. (Though the red display looks pretty sharp).

I could look into waterslide decal printer paper, perhaps. Those 'technology wallpapers' look great. I just don't want a printed screen to obscure the display's background color.

I am getting ready to do the same type of project. I agree with JT, I plan on using water slides. Ainsty and Antenociti both have decals. I was also looking at scaling some Tech Rainmeter Themes.

Google computer screen + favorite sci fi show and see how many different references and easter eggs you can include. Your players will enjoy finding them.

Generally dark background (black or dark green), with bar graphs or sine waves displayed. One of my screens has a star field.

You can always include a Blue Screen of Death.
