Got any periods you always insisted you'd never get into but here we are and your painting guys for it? |

WW2, although it currently languishes in the cupboard of lost projects. |

Never really cared about the ACW, now I got reb cavalry on the paintdesk, listening to the Civil War Podcast on a daily basis. |

WWII in the desert, currently painting for FOWv4 game next week |

ACW My uncle is a reenactor, so I got some figures to paint up for him. Then I got some more to fill out the units. Then I got some scenarios. Then I got some more figures. That process is pretty much backwards from the way I get into a milieu. |

WW2. The early war tactical variety finally got to be too much for me. |

Not a period, but a genre. I swore I would never do fantasy, but my eight year old son wants a dwarf army, and now I have an orc army ready to prime. |

Winter. Can't deal with different basing and terrain. In spite of that there is a group of pointy hatted wizards in the making for Frostgrave. |

Vietnam- I did a couple of con games for a friend to help give visibility to his line of figures. Now I have a couple of boxes of figures taking up space |

World War Two It just didnīt seem like proper gaming, what with all those boring uniforms, no proper formations, being able to hit something kilometers away, and even attacking from the air! Just didnīt seem like cricket to me, but now I love it. Sigh. |
Titchmonster | 09 May 2017 8:52 a.m. PST |
Not anymore. Sold all my attempted projects that I got pulled into off the past year. Now I'm not doing anything new that I like or don't really care for. Until I do it and repeat former process. |

Never say never again! I swore that I would never get into Napoleonics. That oath was broken. My son and wife constantly remind me of this as my little armies grow. Now if there is anything that I am avoiding, I keep it to myself. Mike |

I was completely against ever doing any Napoleonics, but seeing the Alternative Armies Slaughterloo stuff just pulled me in. Sure, it's FANTASY Nappies, but it still Nappies to me! I'm loving researching the historical uniforms and translating that onto the Orcs and Elves. |

Dark Ages (Vikings vs. Saxons). TV shows like "Vikings", "The Last Kingdom", and "Bastard Executioner" pushed me over the edge into that era. "Kingdom of Heaven", and "Arn: The Knight Templar" tempted me into the medieval/crusades era, but so far I have successfully managed to resist those… |

Anything from 1500-1800. But now I've got ECW minis to paint for Donnybrook and a bunch of SYW Russians. |

Vietnam – been there, done that, never bothered to buy the t-shirt. OTOH, I've been working off-and-on building forces for the Viet Minh war, having given into temptation in the form of the beautiful 28mm miniatures from Empress. LT |

No. I am interested in the land warfare from prehistory into the future except the seven years war, in Europe. I have stuck to that for 50 years of wargaming. It's enough to keep me busy. |

ACW. I never thought ACW could be of my interest. Anyhow, some years ago I started painting and playing, and now it's one of my favourite periods to play. |
willthepiper | 11 May 2017 7:25 a.m. PST |
I thought I'd never do ultramodern. I'd always thought asymmetric warfare would make for a very uninteresting game And yet I now have all the figures and terrain I need for gaming modern Afghanistan and have hosted a few games at the club. |
advocate | 12 May 2017 9:05 a.m. PST |
Bobgnar, I have to ask, what have you got against the Seven Years War (in Europe)? Would the War of the Austrian Succession be OK? Frederick's later campaigns? Enquiring minds would like to know! |
TodCreasey | 12 Jun 2017 8:25 a.m. PST |
AWI but that was mostly being intimidated by horse and musket uniforms (1000 28mm Napoleonics cured that). Romans and Greeks are still on the never list but I suspect I will cave on Late Romans when my Franks and Visigoths are ready. |
