Does anyone have any details on the Baudissin & Rheingreven Kurassier regts that served with the Swedish Army in 1632?
I would like to learn their country/state of origin, their commanders and their rank/titles and about the flags they may have carried.

I have found Wolf Heinrich von Baudissin or Bauditz as the head of the Baudissin regiment, but not much about the regiment. And Otto Louis of Salm, Wild- and Rhinegrave of Kyrburg and Mörchingen as the commander of the Rheingreven, but little more.

Neither regiment was a Kürassier regiment nor did they they have specific states of origin as they were raised by military enterprisers/contractors rather than a state. The closest thing to that was that both were considered "German" units.

Wolf Heinrich von Baudissin was orginaly in service with Christian IV of Denmark and when Christian was forced to disband his army in 1628 he was given contract as colonel with the Swedish army to recruit a regiment of 1000 mounted arkebusiers from ex-soldiers of Christian's army for the Swedish war with Poland. Regiment fought in last part of 1628 campaign during which Baudissin was captured by the Poles so regiment fought in winter campaign of 1629 (Battle of Gorzno) and spring campaign of 1629 (Battle of Honigfelde) without him. Released from Polish prison he took part in invasion of HRE with his regiment and was in Swedish service until 1635, in 1631 Baudissin was promoted to Lieutenant-General of the Cavalry. In 1635 he left the Swedish army due to Peace of Prauge and instead served with Saxons until 1636 when he was badly wounded and left military service for good.

Otto Ludwig, Wild- und Rheingraf zu Kyrburg und Mörchingen was mostly known in Swedish service as The Rheingraf or Rheingraf Otto Ludwig. Colonel who raised regiment of 1000 arkebusiers for army of Christian IV of Denmark and fought in several battles. In 1628 had to leave Denmark and Christians service because of his love affair with morganatic wife of Christian IV, Kirsten Munk. Kept his rank as entire regiment transfered to Swedish service in Poland, fought in winter battle of Gorzno 1629 where he disobeyed orders and launched charge with crushed Polish hussars in the center of Polish army routing them and causing rest of Polish army to flee in panic as well. At Honigfelde he again engaged enemy to strongly against orders and was crushed by flank attack by Polish hussars and his regiment mauled and routed. (Payback!)In Germany from 1630, battle of Breitenfeld were regiment played important role and then increasingly independent commands until he became commander of Swedish corps in Lorraine. Died in 1634. Agressive but impetous commander who also had trouble with keeping his men in order off the battlefield.
