I have some of the old Frei-Korps 15 open handed pikemen and want to add more to my army. However, looking at the LKM/QRF site these seem to have been replaced with figures with cast on weapons. I don't like spaghetti pikes and want them to match in with my existing units so can anyone point me to anyone else who produces open handed pikemen that would match size wise with my original figures- they are about Essex/Minifigs in size and stature. Any similarly open handed Hoplites would be useful too if anybody knows of any. I know I can drill out hands but it isn't something I want to do. |

You could try asking QRF if they have any of the old figures left. You never know you might be lucky. Failing that Black Hat Helenistic (bigger shields)will match and also look at Donnington too-all open handed. My phalanx is composed of all three and I'm happy with the compatibility. link |

Forged in Battle do a great range of ancients in 15mm scale (base to eye level). They go well with Essex figs. link |
