Hi all, I have done a few Spectre Miniatures to be part of the population of my post-apocalyptic 'Junktown'. The idea is that these guys are citizens and shopkeepers, who just grab a gun when something gets a little out of hand.

I have also attempted to base them in a way which helps them blend in easily with the rest of the scenics.

Looks really great, esp like how you made the worn and rusted parts

Sweet pics!

Wow. Amazing level of detail! And I love their bases too.

PS. I'd really like to know how you did the "bubbling" effect on the rust.

Fantastic.

Love your buildings and vehicles. Are they commercial or home made?

OldGrenadier Fezian07 May 2017 12:35 p.m. PST

Very cool indeed!

Thanks all, much appreciated.

Cacique Caribe, the bubbling is done using the 'salt and hairspray' technique. Paint a base coat (rust coloured), spray hairspray on and throw rock salt into it so it sticks, then cover with a top coat. When dry, wash under some water and the hairspray washes away with the salt.

Vigilant, the vehicles area mix of resin and diecasts. All the buildings are scratch built from plasticard and bits.

Very nice!

Great terrain! Do you have a blog / website where we can see more?

The corrugated tin bases are genius. Your rust effects are probably some of…if not the best I've ever seen.

RedSkullz07 May 2017 7:30 p.m. PST

Fantastic painting and those bases are awesome. Nice job all around…the terrain looks excellent too.

Clan Mac, thanks so much for the explanation! I'm going to have to give that a try.
