I'm looking for a set of rules to use for modern street gang warfare. I'd like something that can handle 10-20 miniatures per side. I'd like it to allow me to pit gangs against each other or various law enforcement agencies. Any suggestions? |

I've been play testing a new set of 70s based gang warfare rules called Streewars NYC. They are nearly finalised and will be released as a kick-starter soon. They handle around 4 to 8 figs a gang, but could do more. They play very well and have given us some great games. Check this thread on Lead Adventure for an idea of how the game looks and plays: link |

Chain Reaction is always my go-to for this sort of game. Any version, really. The latest version is free from the Two Hour Wargames site. You would do well to split your figures up into groups of 5 or so, but the system works fine with the size battles you're planning, and are GREAT at urban warfare and "cops&robbers". |

I would think that TVAG's Bhoys! rules (19th Century street gang warfare) with a few updates for weaponry would work. And, of course, you could do a roll-your-own modification of The Sword and the Flame. |

At first I thought the OP was modern gong warfare and I thought now that is something different. After re-reading I am now disappointed. Some crazy scenario ideas there. |

On freewargamerules in the misc category there is a set called GangStars that went along with the Obelisk line of gangsta miniatures. Might be the type of thing you're looking for. |

Force on Force or Pulp Alley adapted for modern days. |

I'm looking for something that would basically let me pit groups of people with a wide range of weapons and quality levels against each other in an urban environment. Ideally there should be a difference in the effectiveness of groups such as SWAT teams versus gangbangers. |

Spectre Operations is great, would work and has some lovely rules for smoke grenades, stealth, breaching. More suited to the cops/robbers kinda thing but would work for gang vs gang easily |

I'm looking for something that would basically let me pit groups of people with a wide range of weapons and quality levels against each other in an urban environment. Ideally there should be a difference in the effectiveness of groups such as SWAT teams versus gangbangers. Force on Force will cover that nicely, though you might need to drop the gangbangers down to d4s (given how often they seem to hit innocents instead of another gangbanger). Or you leave the gangbangers at d6s and artificially bump the SWAT guys up to d10s or d12s. (I normally put cops at d6 and SWAT at d8, beat cops just don't shoot enough to be proficient) Buy at least 6 of the Stargrunt dice sets from GZG, maybe 8 (10 if you plan on playing Tomorrow's War) |
