Is the "detached" upgrade option generally available or only when specified in the Army List ?

Reason for asking is that the 11 point William I upgrade does not state 'detached'.

Now, riding up and down the battle line crying "I am alive" and generally gadding about like he owned the place (as he very shortly would do) sounds like 'detached general' behaviour to me !

Understand that this would be a limitation on most Dark Age armies in that they would not have the command structures to roam beyond their attached unit. just wanted to check the design intent.

Many thanks,

Hi Mark,

He's not detached; that's a more "regular" army thing in my book. Although, I can appreciate one could argue that the Normans were at the professional end of the Dark Ages armies…

Best, Simon
