Fantastic work… how lovely. Just again showing that plastic figures can cut it with the best. |

1:72 showing that plastic figures can cut it with the best. With the best? Sorry, but no. Far from it. Especially these plastics. They are good, no question about that – especially as built by Paul. But there is stuff in 28mm (and even 1:72) in metal or resin that goes far beyond anything that is yet done in plastic. I will just mention VVMiniatures or Dark Sword here. The only plastic sets that come close are those of the Perrys, and the typical 1/72 kit is several degrees below that. All that is, of course, just my opinon, based upon far too many minis of all quality levels lurking around my home, so if you disagree thats OK with me. If I would be collecting a Swiss army in 20mm, these would be fine to fill up the rank & files, with the characters and front being made from metal.

There are some 1/72 sets that are VERY nice. Of course when mentioning that "But there is stuff in 28mm (and even 1:72) in metal or resin that goes far beyond anything that is yet done in plastic. I will just mention VVMiniatures or Dark Sword here. The only plastic sets that come close are those of the Perrys, and the typical 1/72 kit is several degrees below that." May I ask how much those figures cost? That is like me saying that 28mm doesn't hold a candle to many of the 54mm figs out there. Of course not. Cost per figure can be anywhere from 4 to 15 times more than a 1/72 plastic figure. It's apples and oranges. Bang for the buck, 1/72 is hard to beat, IMO. But in the end personal choice is what makes preferences subjective. Thanks, John |

Just responding to "plastic figures can cut it with the best." If you consider price, you will almost always find something more price efficient. Its a personal choice. I assumed, however, that "cut it with the best" was not aimed at the pricing. |

I'd be very happy with those figures. |

I find Zvezda to be better than many (if not most/all) 28mm metals. And I am not sure that the Franznaps I have are "better" than my Zvezda – and some 1/72 metals are decidedly "rough". But all mix on the table. So got to agree that it is all down to personal opinion. But for my money, plastic figures CAN and DO cut it with the best |
