Hi All , I like the look of TTS , I want to play it and I think it would be a great game for my small group to take an interest in and rejuvenate our interest in Ancient gaming. But those cards on the table put me off ,,, allot. Can someone please explain to me an easy alternative method to the card activation that is not so intrusive on the tabletop to play this great looking game . thankyou in advance , cheers Tom |

Hi Tom, While I do not have a problem with the cards most of my gaming group does. So we roll a D10 to get the activation number and then mark the unit's score with one or two D6. Not bad and takes less table room. By the way these are a great set of rules. Greg |

Wouldn't using a d10 change the probabilities that the deck of cards offers? |

Our group has some players using cards, others using wooden tokens. Both seem to work. I like the wooden token look myself. Joep |

Simon Miller sells packs of mdf numbered chips on his bigredbatshop website. bigredbatshop.co.uk They are much less obtrusive than cards, and don't involve the probability changes involved in using dice. Personally I preder using cards, and have half and quarter size packs for my 10mm and 6mm respectively! Mollinary |

I prefer the counters myself. as said, available from Simon directly. No shuffling of cards, either. |

Hi, I do sell chits which are a direct substitute for cards. link Some people use D10- this is absolutely fine and will have no impact on play. If you want to use D10 I'd recommend buying 15 or 20 as you'll want to leave one behind each unit activated for movement- or you could use d6 as Greg suggests. Worth trying cards, though, once- cards turn out to be quick and great fun- although I do appreciate that they are visually intrusive. Best, Simon |

Simon, I just ordered two sets of the chits a few minutes ago. I'm in the US. Approx. when do you think that I should be receiving them? I want to run a TTS game at our local gaming convention which is held the first weekend in June. Thanks. Clay |

Hi Clay- I saw your order and am just about to pack it. :-) I'll post today and I anticipate you'll have them in around a week's time, so you should have time to get in a few practise games! Best, Simon |

If you want some tiles, I made some green ones. I "think" they are about 1" square. They should blend in with a cloth mat reasonably well. link You will probably want to edge the sides with a brown or black pen. |
