This stuff looks to be very good for making really excellent looking hedgerows. It's intended use is apparently for upholstery stuffing.

Via google I've found a number of companies in the UK that sell it, but have had no luck finding a source in the USA.

Does anyone know of one?

Thanks.

I've found this stuff in Lowes. It's in the garden section. It's used as a hanging basket.

Really? Well I guess I too have to head over to Lowes here in a few…thanks!

Talk to/find a supplier of materials for classic car restoration.

If you can find a local furniture upholsterer they may have some available for sale.

My local furniture upholsterer had no idea what I was talking about. :-(

here's a source:

What they have at Lowes is called coco fiber liner. It's pressed coconut fiber, not rubberized. It's in the garden area used to line planters.

There are some furnace filters that are made of similar material. Here is one example; big box stores used to sell them, too:

And an old TMP thread:

If you find an old sofa or chair it may have it. That's how I got 3 kitchen sized garbage bags of the stuff.

To add to Skeptics post:

There are also sponges/cleaner made from a similar material. There is a thick version and a thin version. These are also available in the Home Depot/Lowes type stores.

If you are doing a smaller job/build these could work. If you are making a large amount, going with the furnace filter sized item makes more sense.

I used eBay and got mine from the UK to the US in about 7-10 days.

I bought some of the hanging basket material. It works fine as is but I also bought some grey rubber spray to try on it once the weather is better.
Here it is representing some dead shrubbery:

Walmart sells a natural fiber furnace filter that looks like hogs hair. Its about $5 USD for a great big filte, and has a mesh netting on the outside that peels off quite easily.

A couple of years ago, I ordered from onlinefabricstore.net where I got a 6'x2' mat or rubberized horsehair for only $12.50 USD plus $6.95 USD shipping. I have made quite a few things from it and still have a good deal left so it was a good deal.

Plus a few million bedbugs? :)
