I find scissors to be useful, and I dislike having to track down the 'house' pair of scissors, so I now keep my own scissors on my workbench.

Actually, I have two – one pair in my office, and one pair in my game room.

Another family member pointed out to me the $1 USD scissors at Dollar Tree – in bright orange, so everyone will know which scissors are yours! So I have orange scissors at my desk and in the game room.

The problem is that once it becomes known that you always have scissors, you become the person everyone borrows scissors from. frown

So it turns out I need another pair of scissors, because my workbench scissors have somehow walked away…

I went back to Dollar Tree. Ashleigh, the adorable manager there, said that scissors were something that goes in and out of stock, and right now they were out of stock.

I tried Ocean State Job Lot (discount store), but while they had a variety of scissors, none of the adult sizes were at that $1 USD sweet spot.

Then at last, while with my family members shopping at Christmas Tree Store (another discount chain), I spotted a nice, large, useful pair of $1 USD scissors posted right at the check-out aisle. Red, not orange. Oh well.

So my workbench has scissors, my game room has scissors, and my desk has scissors. I am content. grin

And you bought a 12 pack which you keep in a quiet place awaiting the day when these too walk away?

I keep a few cheap pairs of scissors for basic hobby stuff, and a very goid, very expensive pair for my papercraftung touch ups.

As a child, my parents only kept two pairs of scissors in the house, on in the kitchen, one in the bathroom. I had to ask permission to sue them (even up to 18 years old) in case I made them blunt.

First thing I did when i left home, was to buy scissors. Lots of them.
I have found that dressmaking scissors are the best, with nice big handles to fit my paws through.

Even "between houses" as I am, with 95% of my possessions in storage, I've still got three pairs with me.

Signed, Mr Strange.

My mother has a pair of giant tailors scissors from the early 1900's that would cut through anything.

I've got 2 pairs in my model work room, 1 regular and 1 is a fabric scissors that cuts really nicely. The family has been trained not to go in my room and I have scissors in 3 other rooms for them to use.

I'd rather hear more about Ashleigh! wink

Cutco Scissors. Expensive, but sooo good for crafting for the tabletop… Cheers!
