So beyond searching for a thing (cure, radio, vehicle) and plain escape, what other good zombie scenarios do you play? Im working on a "seize the high ground" game for tomorrow night. |

There is "seek-and-destroy," which entails eliminating all the zombies in a given area. It can be added to by adding access points that need to be sealed off. |

Kill the opposing scavenger teams. Zombies are just incidental here. A lot of variants here if you make other humans the enemy. Instead of escape – have two teams on opposite ends fight their way to safety in the middle. |

Fantastic everyone. @Flashman: Tomorrow's game is flee the hordes and get across the bridge. But each side is unaware of the other's presence. So it's possible BOTH gangs could escape unscathed. But knowing my gaming group, I wouldn't bet on it…. |

By the way, in my game players control larger forces than usual: maybe as many as 30 figures per player organized in platton-ish units. |

I'm stealing these ideas, too. I've run one game of get across the map alive, while having to scavenge for ammo, meds and food. I'm working on one now where a group is trapped in a hospital, and another group is trying to get to them to rescue. Each group has slightly different victory conditions. In my games, players have only 1 or 2 figures. Would be interested in seeing your rules---I'll send you mine, if you send me yours!! :) Mike |

We played a scenario several years ago in which a military team (controlled by player A) had to capture at least 4 zombies for the scientists to study and then get them to an LZ for pick up by helicopter. They also had to secure the LZ from zombies, as well as surviving civilians since the civilians wanted rescuing. Players B & C each controlled small groups of survivors that wanted to get out of the area. In their briefing they were told they had seen a military team fast rope in and they wanted to link up to be rescued. The military came in from the middle of the long side of the table and the civilians each group from the ends. There were two possible LZs that the military could use but each was in the direction of a civilian group. In that scenario, the military lost a soldier while trying to capture a zombie, and one of the groups got overwhelmed by zombies when they started a semi in an attempt to push through a blockade of wrecked cars. The game ended in a disaster when the remaining survivors tried to rush to the landing helicopter only to be fired upon by the military. The civilians returned fire succeeding in disabling the helicopter resulting in a hard landing and hordes of zombies. There were a few survivors that were able to take refuge in a building but not many. |

30 minis per player? You might give them all one objective: The mission is to secure an LZ (spend x turns at each site to erect barricades). But each team also has a hidden objective: Team A also wants to capture a "live" zombie. Team B wants to capture/rescue some civilians (capture/rescue depends on if your guys are survivors or military). Team C needs to scavenge for supplies. Team D wants to secure a radio station some distance away. Team E can't afford to take any casualties. Try to setup some internal conflict between the players, but they still have an overall objective. |

'Ambush' – Everybody is walking down an abandoned street, when somebody makes a loud noise. Then the zombies start pouring out of the buildings… 'Close the door!' – One group has to lure a horde of zombies into a courtyard, another group has to shut the door after most of them go in. Ladders should be essential for the first group to escape (if the zombies don't reach them first…) 'Earthquake' – Yes, an earthquake happens during the game. Roll for buildings that fall, people getting knocked down, zombies getting all stirred up like bee swarm. Throw in some random aftershocks. Not a good time to get trapped (can add rescues to other objectives to be completed.) |

If you play at the level of fairly small teams, you could have a scenario where they're hanging out in a spring break town during spring break when a zombie outbreak happens, and your team is widely scattered partying and needs to gather together to escape (or put down the outbreak). But being a team of monster hunters, even when they're partying they're well armed. This idea is roughly based on the opening of Monster Hunter Vendetta, the second Monster Hunter International novel. It might require a ridiculous number of bikini-clad zombies, so you could modify things slightly, maybe spring break in a ski town. |
