…threaten to derail fight against Isis.

"12 YPG and 8 YPJ fighters were killed in Turkish strikes carried out without US coalition consent in Syria and Iraq on 25 April 2017 EPA Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said he will not stand for a "terror corridor" on his country's border with Syria as growing tensions between Turkey and Syrian Kurdish forces threaten to disrupt the US-backed operation to retake Raqqa from Isis.

At least 20 Kurdish soldiers were killed in Turkish air strikes on 25 April targeting Yazidi Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK) allied sites in Sinjar in Iraq, and the Kurdish Syrian People's Protection Units (YPG) in northeast Syria…"

I have seen video from the Kurdish/SDF zone showing a column of YPG/YPJ trucks accompanied by US Strykers flying bloody big US flags; the post was accompanied by a statement from an SDF officer saying that US troops were being deployed to the area to prevent Turkish attacks.

Bloody sick to see the Turks attacking the Yazidis. Mind you, the Turkish government are off their collective rockers, and the Turkish electorate mostly equally barking.

The US should never have gotten involved. It is only a matter of time before US troops get caught in a crossfire between our two allies. We should never have delegitimized the Assad regime in the first place.

Then withdraw, leave back to Iraq and let the Syrians and their Russian allies deal with ISIL in Syria. Finish the destruction of ISIL in Iraq. Deleverage your support of the Kurds and encourage them to return to their autonomous regions in Iraq after ISIL is reduced in Iraq. That will de-escalate tensions with Turkey over time.

Yea, I agree. I don't have executive authority though; all I can do is bloviate. :-)

"all I can do is bloviate"

and Rod has that covered nicely.
