What's your circuit?

I do three ,H-Con, Fall-In and Cold Wars…

Who does those and maybe Little Wars, Williamsburg Muster, etc…

95th Division28 Apr 2017 12:00 p.m. PST

Same for me, although I might check out one or two of the smaller ones like Williamsburg Muster or SYW Convention (loved their pics from the convention this year).

JimDuncanUK28 Apr 2017 12:01 p.m. PST

Vapnartak, York, England, February
Albanich, Dumfries, Scotland, March

Trajanus28 Apr 2017 12:21 p.m. PST

I was reading down the list and wondered how Antwerp made it. Lot more East than North! Good show by all accounts! :o)

JimDuncanUK28 Apr 2017 12:38 p.m. PST

Crisis is a traditional annual visit for some of the guys in my old club. I tend to go regardless with just a chum or two. More recently we have taken wives with us for a long weekend city break.

PS

They sell Belgian beer in bars, cafes and restaurants.

It's a good show, big but not as stifling as Salute.

PPS

There aren't many shows in NW England, Rheged is a new show.

Siege of Augusta

Wargamer's Reunion

coolyork28 Apr 2017 1:55 p.m. PST

Historicon ,Recon and Hurricon . Looking into Nashcon and Siege of Augusta.

Grignotage28 Apr 2017 2:10 p.m. PST

So far, only Millennium Con, near Austin TX.

When I was in high school, I would go with my uncle to most of the cons in the Missouri area.

Wackmole928 Apr 2017 2:31 p.m. PST

Hi

I'am in Denver,Co and have given upon my local Cons, So

Adepticon Chicago
Recon Orlando
Warlord game day OK
Historicon Fredricksburg Va
Recruits Kansas city, Mo
Fallin Lancaster,PA

Rotundo28 Apr 2017 2:43 p.m. PST

Cold Wars
N.J.Con
Barrage
Fall-In.
This year I am going to Historicon for the first time. I like beaches though, so this may be a one time deal. I also attended Williamsburg Muster once.

jdpintex28 Apr 2017 3:39 p.m. PST

No circuit, just one or two conventions somewhere in the US every year.

Favorites so far are Nashcon and Huzzah

War Scorpio28 Apr 2017 5:46 p.m. PST

Fall-In
Cold Wars
NJCON

This year I am attending Historicon in Fredricksburg

Charlie 1228 Apr 2017 5:53 p.m. PST

Used to do the east cons, but no more (I steadfastly refuse to do that idiot trek to the "blessed" Host). Now its Little Wars and Enfilade.

Rudysnelson28 Apr 2017 6:29 p.m. PST

Back in my prime of the 1980s and 1990s, I did 20 to 24 shows a year. Many of those have gone away.
I cut down to 15 after 2000, then after my open heart surgery, I no longer go to shows over12 hours away. Currently I attend siege at Augusta, Recon in Orlando, Nashcon in Nashville, bayou wars in Louisiana, Hubcon in Hattisburg and Hurricon in Orlando.. I try to hit a few more like Rapier in Jacksonville or a multi-genre show.

kallman28 Apr 2017 6:47 p.m. PST

Planning on Historicon and most likely followed by Southern Front Siege of Augusta and perhaps Cold Wars. After that we will see where Historicon ends up and then decide if I will add Wiliamsburg Muster as a replacement.

For me, in order of when they are held during the year:

Rapier
Recon
Hurricon

Being old and crotchety dont drive as far as I used to but nonetheless do need to look into one of the other great Southern conventions Siege of Augusta, Southern Front and/or Nashcon.

Stepman329 Apr 2017 6:59 a.m. PST

Barrage is a great little Con. Buck and Company do a nice show…very small but seems like its growing every year…

capncarp29 Apr 2017 7:55 a.m. PST

Cold Wars and Fall-In are local to me, and up to recently, getting time off from work has been problematic. This may change, and if I win a bazillion dollars in the lottery, my ugly face will be gracing lots more.

Rotundo29 Apr 2017 8:07 a.m. PST

Carp, I have the same problem. Overtime on weekends is my first concern. Conventions cost me much more than just room and board. I get hit in ways only me and my bankers know. But, I gotta live a little to make it worth it.

TMPWargamerabbit29 Apr 2017 8:39 a.m. PST

Out in the far coastal southern west….

Strategicon events: OrcCon (Feb), Gamex (May), Gateway (Sept)
The Local HMGS-PSW convention (Oct)
My gaming warren to fill in the open vacant periods.

TheKing3029 Apr 2017 10:37 a.m. PST

I generally do…

Cold Wars
The Weekend
Fall In

This year I wasn't able to attend Cold Wars so I'm sneaking in Historion.

sjwalker3829 Apr 2017 11:38 a.m. PST

"…after my open heart surgery, I no longer go to shows that are more than 12 hours away."

To me, that sums up the difference between the UK and US circuit, where we (the Brits) complain loudly about the nearest tram station to Salute being closed, meaning we have to walk the length of the exhibition centre.

For me, it's

Vapnartak, York
Hammerhead, Newark
Partisan 1, Newark
TFL Day, Evesham
Partisan 2, Newark
Derby Worlds, Derby
Colours, Newbury
Warfare, Reading

coolyork29 Apr 2017 2:51 p.m. PST

JimDuncanUK , I see you go to Claymore . A couple of us are thinking about a pilgrimage to see some of Scotland and would like to time it around Claymore if possible . Can you give us a little incite as to numbers of games , gamers , dealers etc… Many thanks !

JimDuncanUK29 Apr 2017 4:21 p.m. PST

@coolyork

Claymore is always held on the first Saturday in August i.e the week before the Edinburgh International Festival starts. The rest of the world visits Edinburgh during the festival and every hotel bed for miles around will be taken.

Plenty of games, both demonstration and participation (no booking required), just short of a thousand attendees, 30+ traders, bring & buy (club manned flea market).

The UK shows in June, does anyone have dates for those? We will be vacationing in UK from mid June to end of June and best half is not averse to me having a day out at a show.

But sometimes a problem comes up and I miss one or two.
