Do you consider yourself a lazy gamer?

If I weren´t I would be painting now instead of writing here.

Private Matter28 Apr 2017 7:03 a.m. PST

Yes, I allow work to get into the way of wargaming duties such as painting and terrain building.

Love those preassembled, and/or prepainted aircraft, armored vehicles, and in some cases, even troops (Star Wars figures).

Oh yeah.

Primed some 15mm Stone Mountains figures back in 1992-1993…I'll get around to painting them someday….

No. Once I learned to focus on one or two, projects at s time, I make very good progress.

Dynaman878928 Apr 2017 7:43 a.m. PST

Since gaming is a hobby there is no such thing.

21eRegt28 Apr 2017 7:53 a.m. PST

Oh hell no.

rustymusket Supporting Member of TMP28 Apr 2017 7:57 a.m. PST

Now I am. Keep it simple and if possible simpler than that.

ZULUPAUL Supporting Member of TMP28 Apr 2017 8:05 a.m. PST

I'll get back to you later…

I'm busy now. I'll have to think about it while I'm painting.

wrgmr128 Apr 2017 8:09 a.m. PST

No, not at all. Look for my Vimy Ridge project on the WW1 discussion board. Two and a half months of intensive work.

RobSmith28 Apr 2017 8:17 a.m. PST

Not so much lazy as easily distracted.

Grignotage28 Apr 2017 8:49 a.m. PST

In some ways, definitely. My mantras when painting and building terrain are 1) "Paint covers a multitude of sins," and 2) "close enough for government work."

JimDuncanUK28 Apr 2017 9:06 a.m. PST

I constantly switch between these can wait till tomorrow and must get these done today.

So, I can be lazy but often I am not.

alien BLOODY HELL surfer Inactive Member28 Apr 2017 9:15 a.m. PST

yes, dont paint, dont often game, buy lots of goodies whenever I can and/or I get interested in a new period.

tkdguy28 Apr 2017 10:11 a.m. PST

Yes, although "unmotivated" may be a better word.

Patrick Sexton Supporting Member of TMP28 Apr 2017 10:28 a.m. PST

Lazy and easily distracted.

HidaSeku28 Apr 2017 10:33 a.m. PST

You know you're a lazy gamer when you ask an opponent to move a unit that's closer to you than to him.

Yep! I buy as many pre-paints as I can, re-base, flock, and deploy for games… Painting is time-consuming. "Life" just won't get out of my way for painting…

Shagnasty Supporting Member of TMP28 Apr 2017 11:45 a.m. PST

Of course.

Allen5728 Apr 2017 12:16 p.m. PST

Yes, Use painters for hire, build armies with pre painted figures, play computer and board games rather than paint, and basically just sit on my duff.

Frothers Did It And Ran Away28 Apr 2017 1:23 p.m. PST

In my natural state I am, but I have made the effort to not be, or at least to maintain a certain level of productivity. It helps to have a gaming buddy who is extremely prolific, which shames me into doing more.

I always bring my butler to a game to move the troops and roll the dice for me.
My friend does the same, so the butlers do all gaming amongst themselves while we sit in the other room, have a cigar, and have some whisky. Afterwards they inform us who has won.

So yes, quite lazy.

vtsaogames28 Apr 2017 5:55 p.m. PST

Some days yes, other days no.

Personal logo Fergal Sponsoring Member of TMP28 Apr 2017 6:28 p.m. PST

Gave up painting figures almost completely and now game with lego minifigures…

Dentatus Fezian29 Apr 2017 8:08 a.m. PST

I try to be consistent these days. Slow and steady rather than lurching between spasms of shiny.

I'm actually completing projects now. Who'da thunk?

Great War Ace Inactive Member29 Apr 2017 8:08 a.m. PST

Oh, yes. If I "had" to do this weekly, instead of once every month or two, I think I'd have a seizure from brain cramp………..

Great War Ace Inactive Member29 Apr 2017 8:09 a.m. PST

@Fergal: Schleich "miniatures" accomplish the same lazy (tho satisfying) approach for this boy………….

Great War Ace Inactive Member29 Apr 2017 8:10 a.m. PST

@Phil: LOL! I can really visualize that………..

Great War Ace Inactive Member29 Apr 2017 8:11 a.m. PST

@Hida: guilty!

jambo1 Inactive Member29 Apr 2017 9:09 a.m. PST

Oh without a doubt!!

attilathepun47 Inactive Member29 Apr 2017 11:35 a.m. PST

I will have to get back to you about that. Right now I hear my sofa calling me.
