1848 was a year of rebellions throughout continental Europe. These were put down and many of the losers fled to the United States, providing us with lots of men with military training, which we found a use for 13 years later. I see brown coated Austrian artillerymen and the white coated infantry are probably Hungarian. Grelber |

Yes it is a depiction of a battle of the Hungarian War of 1848-1849. The white-coats seem to be Austrian troops in square, attacked by Hungarian levy (in brown) and cavalry. |

Junta derives from a miniatures game of street fighting in 1848. A diplomacy player was disappointed that he couldn't change sides. That led to a board game that eventually morphed into Junta. |

Great figures, all sculpted by my friend Krisztian from Hungary. He told me the range will growing each three month. Now he will have two new sets very soon. 1848 is an interesting subject with wars over half of Europe, for example Hungary, Italy, Danmark and Poland. And a lot of Uprisings in Germany |

Very nice indeed! I understand the diorama is set in 1848 but does not represent any specific historical action. We have been having a lot of fun refighting historical battles from Hungary's 1848-1849 war of independence: link link link link and I have submitted an article to Miniature Wargames that includes a scenario for Nagy-Sallo. Not to mention the little scuffle at Tapio-Bicske, scenario for which is in the BBB Yahoo group files along with the others. Chris Bloody Big BATTLES! link |
