Seems to me, Each unit of Boxers should be unique/random in terms of colors, save for a red sash somewhere? Chinese Regulars and Imperial Units of course are a different matter. So for TSATF, I'm thinking each Boxer unit shall have a noticeable distinction in base color/texture/style. (My ADD demands that units must have a unique base if not uniform color depending on relevance/accuracy of the latter. ) Now, what about Boxer figures with firearms (acquired rifles and such)? We know Boxers mostly eschewed firearms. Mostly. But you end up with some in many figure packs. So….should each unit of Boxers have a couple firearms in it, or should those with guns be in separate units (even smaller, five man rifle units for sniping, etc). Would a normal sized Boxer unit armed only with firearms be inaccurate? |

Boy oh boy! I wildly misunderstood the topic from the title. But I shall be brief. H |

I painted mine in various shades of peasant tan or linen or cotton, and added the red something or other. Then The Dip. |

Boxers weren't renowned for their marksmanship, so any sized unit armed only with firearms would be inaccurate. |

Yeah, I think you could have some figs with firearms sprinkled in your units. I just think they were so few and poor shots to make the fire negligible. But you do what you want. It's your troops after all. Thanks, John |

I guess instead of using them as Boxers, they could be Chinese converts and put them in with the defenders/Allies? Hey! Thats a good idea maybe? |

I do use a different color highlight to distinguish units but basic white/off white for clothing. Some I give red bandanas or red sashes etc. I do have firearms mixed in or even in units at times. |

My Boxers are in various shades of white and I have thought about using different coloured sashes/patches but have not so far I also put the fire-armed Boxers in their own – usually small – units |

Wow WRGMR1 Love them. I'm gonna use a fine paint pen for the tiny uniform details like writing and symbols (15mm) Yep, Gonna do varied colors, with each unit having a distinguished base style/shade of terrain. |

A Chinese woman who worked for me years ago wrote out specific words for me, which I copied and put on their tunics. These are 25mm OG. |

I researched kanji words on the internet and added them to the clothes for the Boxers. |

A friend painted collection. They are all in a variety of normal peasant colours with the odd splash of red. I wanted them to be used for all sorts of Chinese, not just the boxer, as am doing first China war etc as well. |
