Loughton Strike Force presented a 15mm Napoleonic game at Salute this year, using the new General d'Armee rules.

Numerous eager "Saltuers" took the opportunity to join the game, taking over commands throughout the day – especially David, coming all the way from Sweden!

Thanks goes to all those who helped with the game and joined in, making it such an enjoyable day!

That manor set-up in the first pic is unfairly good looking :-)

Thanks for the pics!

DB, when I saw this post, I went and got a cup of coffee and snacks to settle in for a good AAR, I was not disappointed. Great looking game and wonderful AAR.

I'm guessing that reservist is the same as recruit?
Also I know that at this time the Young Guard were the best of the the recruits from the draft, is that why 4 battalions are rated as line and 4 as veteran? On occasion I have them fight as line with morale as veteran.
Also guessing the OOB was reduced for this game? I would like to try this scenario with our group, but using the full OOB as we have plenty of figures in 25/28mm. Do you have such an OOB? Our group consists of Chris Leach who co-wrote Shako 2 so that is the rule set we use. It would be easily adapted to this scenario.

Sorry for the noob question, did you write these rules?
They sound and look good to me.

Cheers,
Thomas

Not Dave Brown, but here's the scoop on the rules (they are his): link

Thomas,

Reservists – Yes, the optional rules provide for three further troop grades.

Reservists are those regiments that are trained but very inexperienced or reluctant. Thus they are graded as Line whilst they are fresh – once they pass into the first and subsequent casualty levels their morale grade drops to Recruit.

Young Guard – yes – we simply graded each brigade as either Lien or Veteran for ease of play, especially as members of the public were playing. One of the other optional rule troop's grades fits nicely for YG.

OOB – yep reduced for a convention/show game.

Rules – yes I take full responsibility for writing them ;)

So wish I could have joined in Dave – we were trying to get a game organised, and I couldn't even make Salute – ridiculous isn't it.

But ordered, so here's hoping it is as good as it seems.

Dave,

That bloke in the green jacket and glasses doesn't look too excited!

Maybe he was up at 06:00 too! :o)

Traj,

Surely he's gasping with over-excitement, or maybe choking….
