Regulation is at the heart of my new ancient rules, Bella Contra Barbaros. Well, that is, it is the basis of command and control for Roman armies fighting the barbarians between 100 BC & 100 AD.
Here`s "the thing"; it`s easy.
You don`t need to know about the probabilities of drawing cards or of six-sided dice rolling to know whether or not your troops will move this turn.
Easy.
Orders are given to command and then they may move.
Commands are given orders, not units… and so the game is made quicker.
Bella Contra Barbaros is faster also because the game turns are simultaneous.
So, it`s faster and actually easier.
And the games will look like ancient battles too.
