Anybody got any thoughts about half-tracks with XIV Army units in Burma? Can't honestly say I've ever seen any photos but someone here may know different?

I've always wondered the same thing.

I remember reading a book about Burma 'Little Men' when I was at school. There was a reference to a burnt out half track in there, but that could have just been a bit of dodgy fiction.

Still, it has left me wondering 35 or so years later …..

On balance though I think not.

Have you looked on the Battleground WWII rules page, there are a lot of very well researched ToEs for 14th Army there?

Never thought of that Bindon…dunno why….I'll give it a shot.

Nothing I could see I'm afraid.

the indian army had 30 t48 sp 57mm half tracks, not sure where used though

uglyfatbloke23 Apr 2017 10:01 a.m. PST

Hmmm…..The British Army kept 30 from an order that was mostly transferred to Russia; could they be the same ones? They were converted back to personnel carriers apparently.
Things is, SWMBO is looking for an excuse to use her existing half-tracks for Europe with her new Sikhs for Burma.

these 30 were a separate lot aparently

Rule of cool, dude. If your wife wants halftracks in Burma, then clearly there *should* be halftracks in Burma. European halftracks.

Because having SWMBO gaming with you is way cooler than worrying about specific accuracy.

After 25 years of gaming with SWMBO I did n't really think there would be a different outcome; I just wanted to believe for a minute …there's a certain comfort in that.
