I still use the same mix I was introduced to 10 years ago. 5ml Ink 15ml Distilled Water 15ml Pledge with Future Floor Finish. Drop of Dish Soap Am I the only one still making my own? |

About 5% Windsor & Newton Blue-Black Oil paint, about 5% Windsor and Newton liquin. The rest of the mix English distilled turpentine. Must be used fresh and goes over acrylics like magic. Does not stain, rather seeks crevices. Keep it weak for a faint shady shadowing that cannot be emulated! Even good on 6mm. Varnish after at least 48 hrs. |

I use GW washes because I am lazy. But when I don't I sometimes use a little Future for a paint wash. But most times if I am doing a wash I use paint, distilled water, and some Liquitex Flow IMprover rather than dish soap… Damon. |

I cut Army Painter Inks (not the poly stain stuff) with Folk Art flow medium.* This also acts as a bit of a varnish. *it might not be Folk Art. Maybe Ceramcoat or Americana? I got my first bottle at Hobby Lobby ages ago, and recently ordered 2 more off eBay. |

I never mix in water. I just don't get the same results. Higgins calligraphy ink, then Future (now Pledge). Ink works better than paint due to the pigment in ink. |

I've surrendered on making my own, use GW at the moment but that's just because it was there at the store. |

Army Painter Quickshade Inks and Secret Weapon washes. I use 'em frequently for my miniatures, but don't buy more than one or two bottles of each a year. Seven or fourteen bucks doesn't make any difference. |

Pledge with Future Floor Finish Ink Used it for at least ten years now. Used to add water but I don't bother now. |

Pledge with Future. Half and half with water and ink. |
Col Durnford | 22 Apr 2017 4:40 a.m. PST |
Minwax Tudor than future. I've had bad reactions with dullcoat if I use it over minwax alone. |

I pre-mix a magic wash solution of 1:1 Future and wet water, and add it about 8:1 to acrylic artist paint. Wet water is filtered water with 1-2 drops dishwasher rinse aid per cup. For large projects I've been switching the wet water for Flow-Aid water, which is Liquitex Flow-Aid 1:20 with filtered water, but for small wash mixes in a bottle cap, I still have a bottle of pre-mixed magic wash solution to use up. |
